What to Expect
The first step toward healthier, more radiant skin is a consultation with one of our specialized patient care coordinators. During this appointment, you can discuss your aesthetic concerns and ask any questions you may have about microneedling. To prepare for your microneedling treatment, patients should avoid tanning or self-tanning products for at least four weeks before their appointment. Depending on the treatment area, excess hair may need to be trimmed the night before. Patients with a history of cold sores may require an antiviral prescription. Your surgeon will provide you with personalized instructions to ensure the best possible results.
Before the treatment begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to ensure comfort. Your provider will then move the microneedling device across the skin, creating tiny micro-wounds. These micro-wounds stimulate collagen and elastin production, which helps tighten, smooth, and rejuvenate the skin. Treatment time varies depending on the size and number of areas being addressed.
Microneedling typically requires little to no downtime, making it easy to resume your regular routine immediately after treatment. Mild redness or swelling may occur but usually resolves by the next day, and ice packs can help reduce any discomfort. Post-treatment care includes keeping your skin moisturized, avoiding harsh skincare products, and wearing sun protection. PRP
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is derived from your own blood. A small sample is collected and spun in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. Exosomes
