What to Expect
A consultation is the first step toward achieving your individual aesthetic and anti-aging goals at Defyne. During this meeting, you will speak with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons to discuss your goals, concerns, and questions. If a blepharoplasty is deemed the appropriate procedure for you, you may be asked to stop or adjust certain medications and stop smoking. Your surgeon will give you detailed instructions on how to best prepare for a successful eyelid procedure.
A blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both to achieve each patient’s personal goals. At Defyne, our plastic surgeons are skilled in performing a variety of eyelid surgery techniques.
Following eyelid surgery, patients can return home for recovery. Mild bruising and swelling may occur following surgery, which can be controlled by keeping the head in an elevated position. Your surgeon will provide pain medication to help alleviate any initial discomfort. Following a blepharoplasty, patients may experience light sensitivity, blurring, double vision, and tearing, which is common and will dissipate with time. While most patients can return to their normal activities within a few days, you may be advised to avoid strenuous exercise for at least 3 weeks. Most individuals who receive blepharoplasty are above the age of 35. However, baggy or droopy eyelids may run in your family, requiring the sooner delivery of this cosmetic treatment. Many patients who undergo eyelid surgery find that it revamps their facial look and increases their confidence.
Does Blepharoplasty help with crow’s feet, dark circles, and hollow eyes?
