What is it
The True Shape Breast Augmentation is a signature Defyne procedure designed to enhance breast volume and shape using Enhanced Viability Fat Transfer (EVFT) with advanced sculpting techniques. This approach focuses on creating natural-looking, customized results without implants and without general anesthesia.
EVFT
If you choose to undergo breast augmentation with fat transfer instead of implants, traditional breast augmentation incision patterns will not be made. Instead, liposuction will be used to remove fat from an area of the body, such as the stomach or thighs, which is then re-injected into the breasts to add volume.
At Defyne, we use proven enhanced viability fat transfer techniques (EVFT) to increase the proportion of viable fat that stays in the breast. This allows us to have a more predictable outcome compared to standard techniques. Our signature True Shape Breast Augmentation can be done awake in the comforts of our very own specialized procedure room. Recovery is faster, and downtime and scars are nearly eliminated.

What to Expect
Preparation for your scarless breast augmentation begins with a consultation appointment. This meeting is required to discuss your personal aesthetic goals and medical history with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons.
If the True Shape Breast Augmentation is deemed appropriate for your goals, your surgeon will provide you with detailed instructions on how to best prepare. This may include altering or stopping certain medications before your procedure.
Your procedure is performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon in one of our specialized procedure rooms, awake and under local anesthesia. Prior to treatment, your surgeon will review your plan and markings and answer any remaining questions.
Fat is gently harvested from areas of the body where it is unwanted, processed using EVFT techniques to maximize fat survival, and strategically transferred to the breasts to enhance volume and contour. Throughout the procedure, your comfort is prioritized, and our team remains with you at every step.
Because this procedure is minimally invasive, downtime is minimal. Patients return home the same day and resume light activity shortly after. Final results develop gradually as the transferred fat settles, with long-lasting outcomes when paired with a stable weight and healthy lifestyle.
Traditional Breast Augmentation Surgery

What is it
Traditional breast augmentation surgery involves the placement of breast implants to increase breast size, improve symmetry, and enhance overall shape. Implants are available in various sizes, shapes, and materials, allowing for highly customizable results.
Incision Patterns
Inframammary Incision: This incision is created within the inframammary fold or the natural skin crease beneath the breast. The selected implant will then be placed through this incision.
An incision is created around the edge of the areola, through which an implant is placed.

What to Expect
Your journey begins with a consultation where you’ll discuss your goals, medical history, and desired outcome. Your surgeon will help you select implant type, size, and placement to best suit your anatomy and preferences.
You may be asked to stop or adjust certain medications and avoid smoking prior to surgery to ensure optimal healing.
Breast augmentation surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure. At Defyne, advanced anesthesia techniques may allow for surgery under twilight sedation rather than full general anesthesia, depending on the patient and surgical plan. Your board-certified surgical and anesthesia team prioritizes safety, comfort, and precision throughout the procedure.
Following surgery, patients return home the same day with detailed aftercare instructions. A supportive surgical bra is worn to assist healing and reduce swelling. Most patients gradually return to normal activities over the following weeks, with guidance from our clinical team.
Types of Breast Implants
Saline Implants:
Saline implants are made of a silicone shell filled with a sterile saltwater solution. These implants are FDA-approved for women 18 years and older.
Silicone Implants:
Silicone implants are made up of a silicone shell that is filled with a silicone gel solution. These implants are FDA-approved for use in women 22 years and older.
Cohesive Gel Implants:
Also known as gummy bear or form stable implants, cohesive gel implants are a special type of silicone implant that contains a thicker and more cohesive gel compared to traditional silicone implants. They offer long-term performance and have a lower chance of rupture or rippling.
Motiva Implants:
Advanced silicone breast implants are known for their natural-looking results. They utilize cutting-edge technologies to provide a safe, durable option that closely mimics the look and feel of natural breast tissue.
Along with Motiva Preserve, we also offer Mentor, Allergan, and Sientra implants.
Breast Implant Placement & Techniques
With subfascial placement, the implant is positioned above the muscle but beneath the fascial layer covering the pectoralis muscle.
- Avoids placing the implant beneath the muscle
- May reduce animation deformity compared with submuscular placement
- Can be a good option for appropriately selected patients who want less muscle disruption
- Provides less implant coverage than submuscular placement
- May make implant visibility or rippling more noticeable in patients with thinner tissues

The dual plane technique is a hybrid approach in which the upper portion of the implant is covered by muscle, while the lower portion sits beneath the breast tissue.
- Combines upper-pole soft-tissue coverage with lower-pole expansion
- Can be especially useful in patients with mild sagging or constricted lower-pole anatomy
- Offers a versatile balance of shape, coverage, and implant positioning
- More technically nuanced than a straightforward single-plane pocket
- Recovery may be similar to submuscular placement
Preservé is a proprietary, less invasive breast augmentation technique associated with Motiva implants and specialized tools. It is designed to preserve native breast tissue, chest muscles, and nipple sensation while creating the implant pocket through a smaller incision and a more tissue-preserving approach.
