To create a rejuvenated contour, the platysma muscle (the neck muscle), the fat layer between the muscle and skin, and the skin itself must be addressed. A cutting suture is inserted through a small entry point behind the ears to divide the muscle bands in the front of the neck and suspend the muscles like a sling. More superficial tissue will then redrape to create a more defined and sharp neck contour.
